Larry Horowitz

Larry Horowitz has been on the Munson Galleries roster for thirty years and is one of our most versatile artists, working in mediums such as pastel, oil, print, and watercolor. A native New Yorker, Horowitz spends his summers in Wellfleet painting mainly en plein air some of the beaches, bays and marshes. He is a master at capturing the essence of a place and all of its subtleties. Larry Horowitz is well represented by art galleries across the country and in Canada as well as in many major corporate and private collections.

Artist Statement:

I try to listen carefully to what the painting wants to be. I paint quickly because, after all, the light is constantly changing. I tell the truth as I see it, leaving room for others to enter and have their own emotional response.  I think that every painting has a mystery, a secret. The success of painting demands that the secret gets out.
